Mixed Martial Arts Quotes

The first mixed martial arts quotes that I remember were in a video involving Muhammad Ali called 'Kings of the Square Ring'. I first saw Kings of the Square Ring in the early Eighties. Let's start with mixed martial arts quotes from the all time king of the square ring

Muhammad Ali:

'Float like a butterfly but sting like a bee'.

'A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life'.

'Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn't matter which color does the hating. It's just plain wrong'.

'I believe in the religion of Islam. I believe in Allah and peace'.

'Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams - they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do - they all contain truths',

'Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth'.

'I don't know what I would have been if I hadn't been a boxer. Maybe a road sweeper, but I'd have been the best damn road sweeper in the world'.

The Academy Of Mixed Martial Arts

The Academy of Mixed Martial Arts is a term used by many martial arts training gyms in the USA and Europe. The term does not denote a national or international governing body for MMA or at least not yet. However, if you type the term 'The Academy of Mixed Martial Arts' into a search engine, you should find a better quality gym that has experience coaching MMA.

Mixed Martial Arts Training Gyms

Since MMA stands for mixed martial arts, it stands to reason that mixed martial arts training gyms will be pretty standard gyms. The only difference lies with the trainer. Someone wishing to pursue MMA can train on normal, everyday equipment, but will need specialized training. Therefore, instead of looking for mixed martial arts training gyms, it makes more sense to look for MMA trainers or coaches. Having said that, there are mixed martial arts training gyms all over the USA, Europe and Japan.

Women MMA Fighters

Women MMA fighters started coming to prominence in the mid 1990's in Japan and it only took a whirlwind five years before Smackgirl came into existance in 2001. Smackgirl soon became the predominant organization for women MMA fighters in the world. Competitions involving women MMA fighters have continued to grow in popularity and nowadays it is more uncommon not to see women MMA fighters at male-dominated bouts than ever before.

There is no equivalent of Smackgirl in the United States at this current time, but women MMA fighters continue to fight at male bouts. However, women MMA fighters have it more their own way in Europe.

Mixed Martial Arts For Kids

Although MMA has been around for for a century, there has been no movement to get kids involved until fairly recently and therefore there are no real rules specially for children. In fact, nixed martial arts for kids is not catered for in any state in the USA except Missouri.

In other states, it might be punishable by law to allow your kids to take part in MMA. Despite that, mixed martial arts for kids is growing in popularity and people in the sport have regulated themselves in that there are more protective items of clothing worn in mixed martial arts for kids than for adults.
